Every so often I like to really stretch myself and paint something way out of my comfort zone. If I can find a subject that tests my ability to sketch, I am very happy indeed!
Sometimes though I can regret my choice and this piece definitely came into the category of things I should’ve left well alone. Even Facebook friends said I was mad to try this one.
This is the end result and the trick was to create an illusion of detail without getting too fiddly. I quite like it. Click for full image.
