Favourite Ways of Working

As you can see, my style of painting varies widely from the realism of my acrylics to the relatively scruffy pen and wash works. However, one of my favourite ways of working is on fairly small pieces of paper, very loosely in watercolour creating landscapes from my imagination. No pencil sketching and lots of water. For these two I used my Derwent Inktense sets which are good for creating strong, vivid washes. My Duke Confucius Fude nib fountain pen loaded with Sepia ink did a great job for the extra detail in the trees but the main method for both was to splash about and see what happens!
